Blue is Trendy

The title of this post was built into the website template I purchased to design my website. I smiled when I saw it. I have always loved the color blue. I love all shades of blue. Maybe it stems from my love of the ocean. Maybe it’s because I have blue eyes. It definitely didn’t hurt that some guy friends in high school wrote a song about me called Blue Alisha. (One of whom is quite famous now…. Any guesses who he might be? I’ll give you a hint. He’s an incredible musician, but he’s famous for being an actor.) Many of my original songs have the word blue in them.

Blue has always felt like a part of me, but not in a sad way. My successful author friend once told me, “Alisha, you know what the best thing about you is? You are unwaveringly optimistic.” I think that was kind code for overambitious, delusional, or perhaps that I live in a fantasy world, haha. But I can’t deny his observation. I constantly try to find the bright side of things. The difference between my dreams and my reality, in my mind, is just timing. The dreams are the present condition. The reality is the future condition. In other words, in the future, my dreams will have become a reality. And yours can too. My husband has joked with me that the expression is “Dream Big” not “Dream Huge” or “Dream Gigantic.” I told him maybe the expression should change then.

The word Passion means something for which you are willing to suffer. Find what you are truly passionate about, be willing to suffer through accomplishing that end goal, and find satisfaction in the journey and the destination. Find your own Blue Paper Garden, where imagination blooms.
