Alisha Merrick was born in Miami, FL and has lived in 5 countries, 10 states, and 30 cities. She attended BYU-Hawaii and BYU and received a BA in English Literature. She loves languages, is fairly fluent in Spanish, and has studied Japanese, German, Russian, Hebrew, and Samoan. She loves traveling and learning about other cultures, and especially loved the opportunity to live with her family in Samoa from 2018-2021. Her husband is half Samoan and his beautiful culture is a very important part of their family life. She was amazed and saddened to learn that a mere 0.1% of book characters or subjects pertain to Pacific Islander topics. She has included many Polynesian elements in her first children’s book, Between the Clouds – A Droplet’s Divine Adventure, and hopes to continue to create stories with Pacific Islander themes.

She writes songs and creates videos with her creative partner Eden Morris. They create funny, mom-centric videos as a duo called Laughing Moms, and they also create original music as a duo called Alisha found Eden. She creates videos for her family vlog, JAMily TV. She has also been contracted to create content for other channels, such as SheKnows, Cute Girls Hairstyles, and Brooklyn & Bailey. Her content has over 50 million views across various social media platforms. She has always enjoyed writing and creating. She discovered a talent for rapping when she was 30. Her husband, Joe, and their four daughters, Zarahemla, Evangeline, Amaryllis, and Magnolia, are her greatest treasures. She believes in Christ and would be nothing without Him.
